The basic purpose of the project EuroRail-Kaliningrad is the automation of work at border railway stations and organisation of a system for message interchange with the help of transportation document data (waybills) between Russian (RZD) and Polish (PKP) railroads.
THE LATEST information
Testing with real information was acomplished in April 2007. Testing of waybill data interchange using terminal in Branevo has started in March 2008.
The project uses the principles of logistics and modern information technologies on the basis of the international EDI/EDIFACT standards in order to support freight traffic information between Poland and Kaliningrad.
It will be carried out within the framework of the all-European transport corridor No1: Helsinki – Tallinn – Riga – Sovetsk – Kaliningrad – Mamonovo – Gdansk.
The automatization work at the cross-border stations and enabling the use of received information also at the sutoms points is under work. Testing of the waybills´data exchange is going-on. The EDI agreement has been corrected and expanded with RailTrack messages for tracking.
The automatization work at the crossborder stations and the testing of the waybills’ data exchange is in progress.
