Through telematics one can do away with manual paperwork or create entirely new solutions. Telematics - telecommunication plus automatic data processing - is the most essential tool in the development of modern trade and logistics.
One of the most important goals of TEDIM is to increasingly incorporate the electronic transfer of information while developing the standards demanded by these solutions. The modern ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and other new technological applications help in finding totally new solutions for the whole delivery and transport chain. For example, real-time monitoring of transport movements by satellites is possible for even large-scale applications as well as passing messages and other important information to transport vehicles and forwards using the latest computer and mobile information technology.
The TEDIM umbrella of projects has been especially designed to improve the efficiency, reliability and safety of goods transportation between the European Union, the Russian Federation and the candidate states of EU membership. TEDIM is one of the European Union's approved strategic network projects in the Baltic Sea area.
