STATUS - on-going
This project is a wide joint EU / Finnish and Russian development programme, where the authorities and companies together try to improve the working, production and investment preconditions for western companies in Russia. The programme also aims at creating preconditions for co-operation between Russian and western companies.
One of the main ideas of the EuroRussia development programme is networking of private-public partnership between the EU/Finnish and Russian companies and authorities, which enables getting results that an individual company could not achieve.
The implementation of the EuroRussia development programme begins in the areas of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast. Later on the programme can be implemented also in other Russian areas. In addition, companies that are located in other areas in Russia can participate in the EuroRussia development programme. The intention of the project is to eliminate bottlenecks that have so far been preventing this type of networking from happening. This move is going to make a significant impact on the development of the new industry in Northwest Russia.
The objective of the programme is to become concrete and noticeable in the Northern Dimension project. In this connection the objective is to develop the EuroRussia programme into a large-scale co-operation project between the EU and Russia.
