InLoC – INTEGRATING LOGISTICS CENTRE NETWORKS IN THE BALTIC SEA REGION – was approved by the BSR INTERREG IIIB Programme
InLoC-project aims at integrating Logistics Centre Networks in the Baltic Sea Region. The project is based on the Networking Logistics Centres in the Baltic Sea Region – NeLoC project, which was finalished in February 2004. The project will start in August 2004 and last until October 2006.
InLoC will support the networking of logistics centres and their interest groups.
The project aims to:
- improve the networking and operation of ports, logistics centres and other logistics operators,
- create conditions for the spatial integration of logistics operations, to analyse spatial and environmental consequences of logistics centre development and to remove bottlenecks in port-hinterland-logistics centre connections,
- improve the compatibility of different ICT-based transport & logistics networks, and
- organise educative events related to logistics and logistics centres.
The InLoC project involves 35 partner organisations from all countries around the Baltic Sea. The Centre for Maritime Studies of the University of Turku, Finland, acts as a lead partner of the project. The four work packages of the project will be lead by Association of Danish Transport Centres (FDT), Technology Centre Luebeck (Germany) and the Centre for Maritime Studies.
