TEDIM IMPLEMENTS THE EU'S NORTHERN DIMENSION POLICIES The Baltic Sea region has natural potential for functioning as a single logistical development and pilot scheme area. Work on logistical systems within the Tedim programme that takes the regional considerations into account should be given every possible form of support, and the lessons learned should be passed on to other similair regions in the EU.
| | The TEDIM Programme ...- supports sustainable transport policy in accordance with the EU White Paper, e.g. by developing Baltic Sea motorways and TEN transport corridors,
- uses the latest information technology in accordance with the principles of the eEurope action plan and eTEN programme,
- complies with the principles of the Committee of the Regions (CoR), which states that local and regional authorities best know the potential of their own areas,
- supports EU enlargement by helping other less developed regions to solve their own problems in accordance with the policy of common responsibility. This creates the practical readiness to adopt Union-wide modes of operation at the national and regional levels.
