BaSIM project partners and members met in Helsinki
BaSIM Project meeting was held on 9th June, 2005 in Helsinki.
Mr. Rolf Bäckström from the Finnish Maritime Administration warmly welcomed all participants to the meeting.
The lead partner Dr. Raimund Mildner from the Technology Centre Lübeck, Germany introduced the WP presentations.
For example, the following items were discussed during the meeting:
The next general BaSIM project meeting (mid-term conference) will take place in Gdansk on 27th and 28th of October 2005.
- Fields for IT-solutions in security aspects: Communication Management System on ISPS emegency plans; Area Monitoring by means of wireless data communication; Supply- and hinterland-chain security by means of RFID and GPS transponder technologies for avoiding bottlenecks in the ports by me and Electronic Security Education
- Mr. Bentzen, FDT - Association of Danish Transport Centres introduced the aspects of transport corridor development in Europe
- Professor Palauskas from the University of Klaipeda presented a simulation approach to corridor planning including such parameters as flexibility, security, reliability, time, costs and quality etc.
