- Identifies the areas, where the demand and provision of logistics education meet poorly and
- Suggests concrete actions to improve in-service training.
The results of the study are reflected to external factors, that have a significant impact on the future needs for logistics education and training needs in the Baltic States. provides a general overview of The results show that firms consider logistics education and training as a useful tool to raise the competitiveness but the education and training supply meets poorly the needs of modern business. Basic logistics skills are taught extensively whereas more advanced IT and supply chain management issues are in short supply. ICT issues in transport and logistics in general, business skills, understanding the Global supply chains in particular are areas where more efforts are needed. Trainers and educators in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are suggested to pool their resources together under a common Baltic body to co-ordinate these activities in order to raise the coverage, quality and quantity of logistics education and training.
