DaGoB Seminar in St. Petersburg
The DaGoB Russian-Finnish Seminar on "Logistics and Controls in International Transportation of Dangerous Cargoes" was held in St.Petersburg on 25th - 27th of October 2006.
There were over 60 participants representing public and private sector dealing with dangerous cargo from almost all countries surrounding the Baltic Sea.
The Seminar was organised by the Tedim Programme and Project Office. The meeting took place at the Finnish Consulate.
DaGoB aims at improving the co-operations between public and private stakeholders related to dangerous goods (DG) transport in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) by connecting the stakeholders on different levels, providing up-to-date information on cargo flows, supply chain efficiency and risks related to DG transport.
Land Transportation as well as Port & Maritime activities and problems were discussed during the seminar. The main themes were:
- Procedures of control, safe transport, storage and transshipment of dangerous cargoes with different modes
- Transport statistics, co-operation and transport optimization
- International rules and documentation - regulations
- Classification of dangerous loads (different systems and features)
The seminar included excursions "Peterburgskyj neftenoj terminal” and “Pervyi konteinernyj terminal”.
